The use of Saran Wrap to protect chromatoplates during their exposure to iodine vapor

Saran Wrap (a commercially available cellophane sheet) is used to prevent loss of polyunsaturated lipids when using iodine vapor for the detection of lipids on thin-layer chromatographic plates.
