Monogalactosyl and digalactosyl diglycerides were separated from leaf and Chlorella vulgaris lipid extracts by thin-layer chromatography with Silica Gel G as the stationary phase and acetone-acetic acid-water as the mobile phase. Phospholipids are completely removed and with two-dimensional development can themselves be fractionated.
