ERRATA

The authors of the article “Structural analysis of novel bioactive acylated steryl glucosides in pre-germinated brown rice bran” (J. Lipid Res. 2008. 49: 2188–2196) have advised the Journal that the notation “Δ8-cholesterol” used in the article is incorrect and may lead to confusion. The correct notation should be “Δ8(14)-cholesterol” with the structure of “5α-cholest-8(14)-en-3β-ol” based on “IUPAC-IUB Joint Commission on Biochemical Nomenclature: Nomenclature of Steroids” (Pure Appl. Chem. 1989. 61: 1783–1822).

Please note that the correct structure is shown in Figure 3B as published in the original article.
