Localization of fluorescently labeled LDL (DiI-LDL) seen in a cross-section of a rat carotid artery. This vessel was exposed to TNF-a during LDL perfusion. An overlay of the fluorescent micrograph and phase contrast micrograph shows the accumulation of DiI-LDL to be localized in the subendothelial/medial compartments.
