About the Cover

Cover Figure

3T3-L1 adipocyte plasma membrane lawns were stained for long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase (FACS) and fatty acid transport protein (FATP). Cells were examined by fluorescence and polarized light microscopy at 6303 magnification, The same field of view is shown at the top left with staining for FACS, at the top right with staining for FATP, and at the bottom left with staining for both proteins. The patterns of FACS and FATP overlap to give a white color on this double exposure. The bottom right photo shows staining for FACS in the presence of excess immunizing peptide as competitor to demonstrate antibody specificity. (See Gargiulo, Stuhlsatz-Krouper, and Schaffer, p. 881.)
