About the Cover

Cover Figure

COVER: A model of the membrane topology of the ABCA and ABCG classes of transporters is shown with the membrane-spanning domains depicted as numbered shaded cylinders and the nucleotide-binding domains as cytoplasmic loops. Experimental evidence supports the presence of the N-terminal extracellular loop. The thickened line depicts a hydrophobic segment (HH1) that has been proposed to be able to enter the membrane. The ABCG model is based strictly on computer predictions and that the half-transporters form a dimer. (See Dean, Hamon, and Chimini, p. 1007.)
