COVER: Three-dimensional confocal images of a cholesterol-loaded aortic endothelial cell stained with HDL (red fluorescence), caveolin-1 (green fluorescence), and 2-actin (blue fluorescence) (A-C). In a lateral view of the image (B, C), 2-actin was present in the cytoplasm and caveolin-1 was on the cell surface. HDL was revealed only on the cell surface or invaginations into the cell.
