COVER: Trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) decreases lipid accumulation in differentiating human preadipocytes. Cultures were continuously treated with either a bovine serum albumin vehicle (top left), or 30 M linoleic acid (top right), cis-9,trans-11 CLA (bottom left), or trans-10, cis-12 CLA (bottom right) for 12 days during differentiation. On Day 12, cultures were stained with oil red O, and phase-contrast photomicrographs were taken using an Olympus inverted microscope with a 10[times] objective. (See Brown et al., p.1287.)
