About the Cover
COVER:
Confocal images of serial transverse sections of human skeletal muscle stained
with anti-myosin heavy chain-I (MHC-1), which recognizes type I muscle fibers,
anti-FAT/CD36, or anti-caveolin-3. In each row the left and middle panels
represent serial sections, and the right panel represents a magnification of
the boxed area of the middle panel. The red numbers indicate the intensity
ranking of the sar-colemmal fluorescent signal, showing that FAT/CD36 is more
expressed in type I than in type II fibers, whereas caveolin-3 expression is
higher in type II than in type I fibers. Bars = 30
m.
