About the Cover

Cover Figure

COVER: Phosphatidylinositol transfer protein α (PITPα; background ribbon diagram) binds phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns) or phosphatidylcholine (PtdCho). Transgenic mice expressing only a mutant PitpαT59D specifically defective in PtdIns binding (bottom panels; T59 side chain at left, T59D side chain at right) recapitulate the fatal course of neurodegenerative and intestinal/hepatic steatotic disease that characterizes Pitpα nullizygous mice. (See Alb et al., p. 1857.)
