COVER: Cisplatin treatment can result in apoptotic renal cell death, leading to changes
in lipid distribution in the kidney. Cilastatin protects proximal tubule cells from
cisplatin-induced apoptosis, practically restoring renal lipid distribution to control
levels and recovering renal function. Therefore, lipid imaging helps visualize renal
function status and can be a useful tool for assessing nephrotoxicants and novel nephroprotective
